This privately billed, multi-disciplinary GP clinic opposite a chemist was established in 2009. Some staff have been retained that whole time, indicating a great workplace culture. They have very high patient loyalty due to the membership program and great services offered. This loyalty program is detailed in the Intellectual Property (IP) component of the business for sale and makes it ideal for chronic disease patients to be seen by a practitioner regularly. Other parts of the IP include unique systems of team work which allow the GP a seamless flow of information. Patients wait years to accept a place in the loyalty program, so demand is high for the practice services which include a friendly practice team who are all keen to work with new GPs.
Each of the member patient’s contracts can easily be transferred to a new business owner should that person wish to continue this scheme that supports the high practice income. The vendor is prepared to mentor the new owner for up to 2 years. The onsite team support the Doctor to work smarter not harder, making this outgoing GP the second highest billing GP nationally. Maintainable earnings will remain high if the new buyer embraces this scheme. The IP will be sold as a part of the practice sale, teaching exactly how to bill at a high level and be successful if audited. As a college teaching practice, there is regularly a registrar at the clinic, so it has effectively operated as a two-doctor clinic for nearly 15 years.
There is an option for lease assignment or new long lease as the current lease expires October 2023 (annual increases at CPI). Additional allied health providers coming to the clinic on a sessional basis & paying room rent could be accommodated into this part should the new owner wish to continue growing the team.
